Microsoft Edge Stable releases paused while work schedules adapt to coronavirus pandemic
Microsoft this calendar week appear that it is temporarily pausing updates to the Microsoft Edge Stable aqueduct. The Stable channel will remain on Chromium version lxxx instead of updating to Chromium 81 as planned.
"In light of the electric current circumstances, the Edge team will interruption updating the Stable channel to Edge 81 consistent with the Chromium Projection," Microsoft said in a tweet. "We are committed to continued security and stability updates to Border fourscore."
This follows a move by the Chromium squad to not promote Chromium 81 to the stable release channel earlier this calendar week. The conclusion was made due to "adjusted work schedules" during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, co-ordinate to the Chromium team. The team says it will proceed to ship stability and security fixes.
It appears Dev and Canary channel releases will still go forward. Microsoft says information technology will have more than data to share on its release schedule next week.
